About Chris

Chris has been chasing better espresso at home for fifteen years — through three machines, two kitchen renovations, and one regrettable phase obsessing over water mineral content.

He started out on a Rancilio Silvia, moved to a Breville Dual Boiler, and has been dialling in a La Marzocco Linea Mini for the past three years. Along the way he's worked through a lot of grinders, tampers, and water filtration setups — and drunk a lot of excellent coffee from Portland roasters like Stumptown, Heart, Coava, and Proud Mary.

The Coffee Dispatch exists because most coffee equipment reviews are written from spec sheets. Chris writes from daily use: what actually works after six months, what breaks down, what's worth the price and what isn't.
